Smash Bros and Amiibos

I promised myself I would only buy three amiibos. I promised myself I would not freak out and collect all of them. That went out the door when I saw exactly how beautiful they were. Kirby looks so soft and friendly, while Samus is shiny and badass. Yoshi's kinda... eh. He could probably look better. I think he's my least favorite of the seven I purchased today, as far as quality goes. The detail on most of them, though, is amazing. Pics to follow.

So, I haven't tried Smash til today, because I've been playing Pokemon and feeling quite sick. When we bought the amiibos from Walmart (who I had to ask to put out. They didn't even know they were there.) We purchased Yoshi, Pikachu, and Kirby. I thought you trained the amiibo yourself, but you have to battle with/against it, which is okay. We played three matches against Yoshi and Kirby, and they started kicking our asses. They level up quite quickly, and it shows.

When you add a new Amiibo, it allows you to pick the color/outfit of the fighter and what their nickname is. Yoshi became pink, and named "Bubblegum." The items picked up through regular matches can be "fed" to these characters, boosting, say, attack, while crippling speed or defense. The items also may give bonuses, such as life steal or 1.5x damage in the air when eaten. Up to three of these bonus attributes may be kept at one time, that I can see.

Yeah, again, at level 21 Yoshi and Kirby destroyed us. These are way smarter than normal AI and really challenge you to do your best.

I guess I like Smash. Siiiiiigh

I have too much time on my hands, but I think these are really cute. I can't wait to get the rest.
